
Freshman Kevin Ferguson earns CAA Pitcher of the Week honors

Freshman LHP Kevin Ferguson (Suffern, N.Y./St. Joseph’s Regional) has been named CAA Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 22 to March 1, the conference announced Tuesday.
Ferguson earned the honors after throwing six shutout innings against St. Bonaventure in Winter Haven, Fla., on Feb. 27, racking up eight strikeouts while allowing just two hits and two walks to get the win in his collegiate debut.
Ferguson will return to the mound this Friday in Winter Haven to face Villanova at 12:30 p.m. The Huskies are 3-1 on the season heading into their annual showdown with the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday.
Senior Dan Zehr will get the start against the Sox in their annual exhibition. Junior Les Williams will throw at 10 a.m. on Saturday against Valparaiso, the first of two games. Sophomore Andrew Leenhouts will start in the second game, a 1:30 p.m. matchup against Bowling Green State.
The Huskies are outscoring opponents 33-17 in four games this season. Northeastern has a team batting average of .333 and it’s pitchers have combined for a 3.86 ERA.
